Events Aortic Root Enlargement
This advanced aortic root enlargement course, conducted by the team of
Prof. Dr. Thorsten Hanke from the from the Heart and Vascular Center, Albertinen
Hospital, is designed specifically for advanced cardiac surgeons and their
multidisciplinary teams. It provides comprehensive theoretical and practical
training in advanced aortic root enlargement surgery, with a dedicated focus on
the Bo Yang aortic root enlargement technique. A key feature of the program is the
inclusion of live surgical cases performed via sternotomy (partial and/or full),
showcasing operative strategy, aortic root enlargement steps, and intraoperative
decision‑making.
Participants will engage in a half day hands‑on sessions in the wetlab, case‑based discussions, and focused lectures delivered by experienced professionals. The course emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and is particularly valuable for teams aiming to enhance their proficiency in modern aortic root enlargement and complex valve surgery, standardize best practices, and strengthen perioperative pathways.
The course is exclusively open to candidates holding specialization in cardiac surgery.
