Since then he has been working in Rome, at the\nUniversity of Tor Vergata,\nwhere he was appointed Associate Professor in 2002.&nbsp; Since 2020 he is\nProfessor at the Unicamillus\nInternational Medical University in Rome. He has been EACTS President in\n2018\/2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His\nmain interest is in aortic and mitral repair surgery. He is the designer of the\n\u201cValsalva\u201d graft, currently used in most aortic root surgeries and co-designer\nof the \u201cPhysioflex\n\u201cring for mitral valve repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nhas a large practice in treating aortic and mitral repair and aneurysmatic\ndisease and is an internationally known specialist in aortic valve sparing and\nrepair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Ruggero De Paulis is the director of the Cardiac Surgery Department of the European Hospital in Rome.
