He\u2019s got expertise in congenital and acquired heart disease, including structural valve disease (valve repair and replacement), neonatal surgery, assist devices and transplantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Most recently, Dr. Bautista served as Director of the Congenital Heart Surgery Program and Associate Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Complejo Hospitalario Universitario A Coru\u00f1a, Spain. Dr. Bautista received his medical degree and his PhD from Universidad de Murcia, Spain. He completed a 3- year fellowship training at Boston Children\u2019s Hospital\/Harvard Medical School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is an active member of major surgical associations, including AATS, STS, EACTS and SECCE. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers which accumulate more than 1000 citations &nbsp;and has received the John Maxwell Chamberlain Award (STS) and the Young Investigator Award (EACTS) for his research.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Victor Bautista-Hernandez works at Complejo Hospitalario Universitario of Coru\u00f1a (Spain).
